"Du
gros Death bien brutal (mais suffisamment varié pour ne pas
lasser), malsain et dans un esprit bien Gore... Avec ce "Warped
in the macabre", le groupe vient de passer un echelon au dessus,
en proposant un bon compromis entre vitesse d'execution et bestialité
dans la lourdeur des rythmiques, le tout étant bien dérangeant.
Faut dire aussi que la technique n'est pas en reste, au contraire...
La qualité de la production (studio de Voracious Gangrene)
a elle-aussi suivi la même progression.A vous de juger !"

commence par une intro courte mais des plus glauque faite de vocaux
biens dérangeants mais la colère ne se fait pas attendre
car s'en suit rapidement un morceau ultra speedé et donc très
typique du Grind qui sait aussi se faire bien lourd. La suite est
dans la même veine mais à aucun moment on ne ressent
une quelconque impression de déjà entendu. Les grattes
sonnent comme je voudrais l'entendre plus
souvent dans ce genre de métal pratiqué, la lourdeur
fusione avec les plans surboostés, la voix est, on ne pourra
dire le contraire, très typé Grind - c'est même
dur de faire plus typé à mon avis - et la batterie est
super efficace. Les baguettes ne sont pas tenu par un manchot, si
je puis parler ainsi! Et même si je me dis que si ce mini avait
été plus long j'aurais peut-être moins accroché,
tel qu'il est c'est tout à fait comme il faut et il n'y a donc
aucune raison de se plaindre, d'autant plus que ce combo est français.
En conclusion je dirais donc que ce disque est un pur mélange
de Brutal Death et de Grind où tout le monde pourrait s'y retrouver
si bien sûr on apprécie le genre. Moi en tout cas j'adhère
complètement à ces 18 minutes où violence rime
avec puissance. Bref, Snakebite Prod nous gâte vraiment avec
ces dernières sorties car en allant chopper Necrocult et Bloodshed,
ce label a assurément de beaux jours devant lui."

paraît bien parti pour se faire une place au sein de la scene
death hexagonale. Brutal, virulent, et sans concessions, leur musique
de malades allie une lourdeur extrêmement pesante à des
blasts en rafales. Six titres qui leur laisse augurer un futur hautement
enviable.A l’image du gavage d’oies institutionnalisé
dans son sud-ouest d’origine, Bloodshed gavera le moindre fan
hexagonal d’hystérie brutal-death à l’américaine
(genre Suffocation, Devourment…). Cinq titres plus une intro
de death-metal ultra brutal qui savent atteindre également
des sommets lorsque le rythme soudain se fige. La lourdeur malsaine
dégagée alors est apocalyptique, ainsi le groupe reblaste
de plus belle et l’effet n’en est que plus imparable.
La voix située entre l’ours mal léché et
le goret qu’on égorge est ici du plus bel effet et les
soli, simples et discrets, contribuent à l’efficacité
du mcd. Même si la technique rythmique n’est absolument
pas à remettre en cause, souhaitons leur juste une plus grande
variété de tempos pour le futur. Un groupe qui risque
de vous faire exploser le foie en moins de temps qu’il n’en
faut pour le dire."

"Un
déferlement de brutalité !!! Voici là, la traduction
française de BLOODSHED. C'est avec ce genre de brutal death
que ces français nous montrent comme il peut être facile
d'écraser à grand coups de bulldozers toutes les autres
productions à demi mâchées. Même si ce groupe
peut se prévaloir d'exercer fort bien la brutalité il
n'en néglige pas pour autant la technicité , nuancée
et essentielle, qui suffit à contrer la linéarité.
Blasts effrénés, vocaux déchirés et caverneux,
martèlement de caisses hystériques tout y passe pour
ne laisser derrière eux qu'un filin gluant et fumant coulant
de nos tympans explosés. Côté production, c'est
au studio Bud rec's des gars de feu VORACIOUS GANGRENE que le tout
a été fait. Au résultat ça sonne fort
et ça sonne dur. "Warped in the macabre" est un bon
produit du terroir et devrait permettre à nos bouchers de trouver
encore toutes les carcasses qu'ils leur est nécessaire pour
alimenter les fans de brutalité. Un produit Made in France
!!! Made in flesh ! Made in bones !"

"Une
chose est sûr, les gars de Bloodshed n’ont pas du passer
leur tendre enfance au pays d’Alice et son monde merveilleux
tant leur mini cd « Warped in the Macabre » est torturé
et malsain à souhait.
Entre Disgorge et Cannibal Corpse, et avec une petite touche de Sublime
Cadavérique Décomposition pour les paroles… sans
paroles, les gars de Bloodshed (qui portent d’ailleurs le nom
d’une chanson d’Agressor, est-ce un hasard ???) nous servent
un bon death gore et brutal.
Les morceaux vont plutôt vite, bien que doter de passages plus
mid-tempo, histoire de prendre le temps d’assener quelque bon
riffs dans la face de l’auditeur, et ce qui marque également
est la partie chant, où la Bloodshed se distingue de la plupart
des groupes de death brutal, car comme dit précédemment,
il n’y a visiblement pas de paroles, et Mortiifico nous sert
un chant torturé et malade fait de cris et d’hurlement
divers, donnant à chaque morceau une atmosphère vraiment
noire et malsaine.
Au final donc, un album de qualité, qui peut surprendre par
sa partie chant, mais qui convaincra tout de même tout amateur
du genre, affaire donc à suivre, puisque le groupe est entré
en studio en 2003, pour donner une suite à ce premier méfais…."

a affaire ici à du gros Brutal Death mais dont la principale
caractéristique est d’être assez technique et surtout
étonnament varié : les riffs accrocheurs se succèdent
les uns aux autres aussi bien sur font de rythmiques ultra rapides
que bien lourdes, et on ne s’ennui pas un seul instant. Le chant
est plutôt Grind et donne un coté « gore »
à l’ensemble, notamment sur le morceau « Putrid
Resurrection in Anthropophagia » où le chanteur de VORACIOUS
GANGRENE vient partager les vocaux. Le tout est très bien exécuté
et le son sert parfaitement les compos. Bref, que demander de plus
!? Moi, en tout cas, j’aimerais avoir plus souvent l’occasion
de mettre ce type d’albums sur ma platine!
A noter que ce Mini CD sort sur le jeune label de la région
toulousaine « Snakebite productions » dont la dernière
sortie est l’album de NECROCULT et qui semble avoir pour vocation
de promouvoir de bons petits groupes français de Brutal Death
encore underground. Ce skeud est donc une excellente surprise pour
moi !, et ne laisse présager que du bon pour l’avenir
de ce groupe qui, aux dernières nouvelles, travaille actuellement
sur son 1er album qui devrait s’intituler « March Of The
Undead ». Un groupe à suivre !"

"Lovers
of brutal in the more bloody way mark the name of Bloodshed! This
quartet of Beziers, in France, released their pro debut with the valid
MCD "Warped In The Macabre" in March 2003 thanks to the
support of Snakebite Productions, French label specialized in all
the shapes of death metal. Currently the musicians are to the job
for the realization of their first one full-length. Composed from
five traces plus an introduction for a total of 18 minutes. Considered
that, it cannot be anything else than just a slaughter! Therefore
it is in fact, but completed with criterion and intelligence. The
songs are never banal. They are directed, sure, but not simple. The
musicians demonstrate a good taste in the structures and talent in
the songwriting. One feels that they are competent of the matter!
The riffs, are not the most original, but they denote personality.
This band uses slowing down rhythms, rendering therefore the fast
parts still more telluric. In part the Disgorge Americans can be reminded.
The voice is the a classic outre tombe guttural but the atmosphere
that communicates is truly unhealthy. That seem to come from the putrefied
throat of a corpse. To all these qualities go added to the technical
of the instruments and the optimal quality of recording, a powerful
and sick preparation. So, considered the total quality of the songs
(between which "Putrid Rescurrection In Antropophagia" and
"As The Lambs Bleed" detach themselves from the others)
Bloodshed is an emerged candidate like bands of the French brutal
scene. I give this advice to you: acquire "Warped In The Macabre."

album's name somehow kept getting read as Wrapped In The Macabre here
at Metallian Towers, which would have made more sense, but Warped
In The Macabre sounds interesting too! The MCD begins with a useless
intro and the band kicks into the most brutal growl-o-rama death metal
since the release of the lone Miasma CD back in 1995 or so. The onslaught
continues with a heavy bass sound, sporadic snare attacks and lower
and deeper growls than the abyss, all of which mingle freely with
doom and sludge riffs! Bloodshed's preferred battleground is an Autopsy-meets-Suffocation-meets-Cannibal
Corpse arena. The song structures follow a repetitive pattern though
and the drummer, while nimble, simply follows the rest of the band
for the most part. His blast beats and the guitarist's whirlwind riffing
make for a sick band nonetheless. The band has the thickest sound
and has devised grand plans for the poor listener's ears!"

boy, Snakebite Productions seems to have a talent to discover some
goodies out there. Bloodshed is over the top grinding death metal.
Very brutal stuff, very intense and oh-so insane. You could easily
point out their biggest examples, where they got inspiration and whatever.
Just like Ouroboros, this isn't the most original band ever, but damn
you can kiss my ass, they are good! They combine the melody you sometimes
find in old Deeds of Flesh records with the bulldozer-power of Dying
Fetus. The gurgling vocals are a well chosen combination. The guitars
are not the shredding ones, but the melodic kind of type. And surprisingly,
they fit perfectly and blend in like they should with the other instruments.
Bloodshed is a powerfull brutal death metal band. Mark my words, you'll
hear from them!"

"Shit!
This must be the most ugly and cheesy coverart I have ever put my
eyes on. You see this guy kneeling down in a tunnel full of dead bodies
and he is carving his way through a severed head. At least the coverartist
used a good set of paint to ligthen things up for this piece of coverart.
As well for the very gory artwork these guys have something that I
havent read in a long time, classic and gory lyrics with some of them
containing zombies! Oh, the good old days, welcome back! Although
they are pretty cheesy and the english is as bad as mine, I really
dig the fact that this is back to the basics (in the vein of Chris
Barnes lyrics, GOD).
Bloodshed is a brutal band coming out of France (other bands from
France is: Morgue, Fate etc.) that plays semi-technical death/Grind
in a mix between the riffing of old Cannibal Corpse and the intensity
of Disgorge (US). The vocals remind me of Matti Way and the ones in
Morgue (whatever happened to that band?), very nice and agressive,
using a wide range of burps and gurgles. The vocalist also gets help
from Guillaume from Voracious Gangrene (another great band from France)
on the track "Putrid Resurrection in anthropophagia", one
of the better tracks on this mcd. [...] I want more than just 6 songs,
everything is over when you least expect it, cant wait for the fullength
from these sickos. This album gets 4 out of 5. Never heard any of
their previouse release, but I bet that its just as good as this mcd,
that is their first professional release. If you ever wondered how
it would sound if you mix old Cannibal Corpse and Disgorge, here is
your chance!"

and vile pus emanating from an intro à la old DEEDS OF DLESH,
vile suffocation and morbid rejoicing! BLOODSHED is a Brutal death
band that evolves in the French underground since a few years, but
my morbid consciousness didn't cross their ways of repugnance until
now.
Their style is Brutal death grind that could remind of the first BRODEQUIN
CD, or some CANNIBAL CORPSE stuffs, but surprisingly enough this isn't
so technical. The fast parts could remind of DISGORGE (Mex) but it's
less raw, and it's the kind of stuffs I've ever devoured a lot...
[...] Some slower riffs could remind of the most doomy and occult
riffs of old MORGUE (Fra). They could also remind of INHUMATE (1st
CD) and old DEEDS OF FLESH.
The opening riff of the 2nd track has got more substance and obscure
deepness, in the gateways to annihilation of the last MORBID ANGEL
releases! Real heavy crushing riff with an enormous morbidity! [...]
BLOODSHED could offer something really good if they were morbidly
developing these heavy riffs! Quite promising!"

groupe de chez Snakebite Records, BLOODSHED annonce très vite
la couleur (ou plutôt la noirceur) : ce sera du Brutal Death
! Riffs pachydermiques, chant d'outre tombe, compos efficaces, voilà
ce qui vous attend tout au long de ces 6 titres, qui ne sont qu'une
mise en bouche avant l'album à paraître. Si le groupe
ne brille pas par sa finesse, il réconcilie les amateurs du
genre avec des morceaux bien amenés, qui ne laissent pas de
répit à l'auditeur. Alternant les riffs bien techniques
avec des ralentissements bienvenus, l'ensemble se montre bien homogène
et suffisamment attrayant pour que l'on porte une oreille attentive
sur ce groupe formé en 98. Il me tarde l'album pour voir si
ces gaillards confirment tous les espoirs que Snakebite Records place
en eux."
