Digested by the Eternal Reptile OUROBOROS...

Unfruitfully recruited, the following members, their stay in the band varied from months to yearsss :

- 1 Lead Gtar (Peter 1997-98)
- 2 Rhythm Gtar (Tom 2000-2003, Yann solo mid 2003)
- 1 Death Vox (Jesssica 1998-99)
- 10! Drummers (Paul 1998-99, Romain 1999-2000..etc)
- 2 Bass (Axl 1999-2000 father of the logo, Eric 2000-early 2004)

...Anyway, mid 1997 the duo formed of Fab(guitar) & Ash(lyricist-growler) baptized themselves OUROBOROS! During these past years no demo stuff that we taped at rehearsals, little concerts could represent enough the band OUROBOROS evolving all the time. Ouroboros was running on slow motion because of the lack of interest of local musicians on very extreme metal. Some of them that dare to play with us were not to remain in the band very long... because of not enough motivation or/and having to flee from the South of France completely. Also, we admit that the fact to rehearse in the heart of a savage and quiet land (as woods!) had discouraged so many metallers!!

...A solo guitarist(Peter) joined us end '99, then a drummer(Paul) that was already sharing with us the same passion for extreme music since a long, long time joined in spirit Summer '98. After a year of collaboration Peter lacked of interest.., devoting his following years to the study of Ancient History (you can guess that it was all the contrary for us). End of Spring '99 Paul was officially the band's first mad drummer, the band sounded like VERY heavy DEATH METAL with a few thrash & maniac parts. ...In Summer a bass player(Axl) came to add more heavyness & speed (+our first logo draft!!) to OUROBOROS. In Autumn, Paul left France moving to England but he anticipated his departure by contacting another drummer(Romain) to play immediately after him. Indeed, just three days later Romain was ready and tonic! Our music gaining in technicity day by day and sounding like some DEATH more BRUTAL + with a death CORE touch from the second drummer. Also reaching the velocity of extreme black metal for a comparison. In Spring 2000 while working on new songs, Romain told us his family had to move from the South of France, he prefered to follow them. Sadly, nothing was really the same without any drummer but at least the drums stayed with us ! This departure affected a lot Axl that was not as motivated as before to play with perseverance as it is necessary in a band. Ouroboros' first official bassist had to quit at the end of the Summer 2000.

...Meanwhile the band auditioned again many drummers (total of 10!!), between June 1999 and June 2002, none fitted. Summer 2000, the band (re)became the original duo but was far more determined than ever, gaining progressively a VERY BRUTAL attitude in the sound and compositions. With rageful madness the band which was parallized for so a long time reborn!

A second bass player(Eric) joined on September 2000 and healed incroyablely the formation. In October, Eric contacted a rhythmic guitarist(Tom) which was looking for such a BRUTAL DEATH METAL band. The goal quickly defined was to release a MCD by composing -one song a month-.

So in April 2001, OUROBOROS hitted Snakebite Studios (France-EU) to record their first Opus, 5 tracks - 21 minutes. On an all 'do it yourself' basis and on a rush, the takes of all the instruments were done in just one row. This first material was mixed in July-August. As an autoproduction, problems had to occur and that was the case on the layout domain. Especially because of the unprofessionalism of some people supposed to be pros, the bastards, they suffer endlessly now!! Delaying the fabrication of the cd for about 6-8 too LONG months... The release was finally made possible in May 2002 by the huge efforts from our label SNAKEBITE PRODUCTIONS. And the first release from this French independant label specialized in BRUTALITY forms of music. 'Critical Perspective' received honest reviews and support from the Underground.

Ash which role in the band had always been the throat, had to 'master' an instrument totally new to him in November 2002...

Summer 2003 while getting ready for our first gig with this line-up, the band had to separate from their rhythmic guitarist. The 22nd November 2003, Ouroboros successfully played as a trio live along with Ossuaire, Trash nasty and Necrocult. A month later our bassist Eric leaved the band in quite good terms...Year 2004 back to a duo form, a black period for Ouroboros and the members' general life. So meanwhile more care had been given to their own young Label Snakebite. First to balance missing funds gone into the hands of an ex label member, plus repair the damages done in the back to the label and to its bands. Then to spend time on the promotion of promising local bands with some official support here and there.

August 2005 a session vocalist (Guillaume) joins up the band with the active support from Jeff from PLANET METAL Radio show on Albi. September 2005 a second guitarist (Seb from band EVILNESS/Toulouse) joins us. Ouroboros counts now 4 members and is seeking for their 5th, a brutal bassist is needed !
